Steve offers clients nearly five decades of international building experience. It was in Papua New Guinea that Steve's first official house lift was achieved. Steve utilised as many car jacks as possible, along with using local labour, to raise a politician’s house 2.7m so that rooms could be built beneath. He later worked in the Gulf of Carpentaria, Mornington Island, where screw piling was used following a severe cyclone to rebuild the island’s aboriginal community. In 1997-98 Steve was base manager at Scott Base in Antarctica where he was anchoring buildings to the Antarctic rock. His eclectic career has also seen him work throughout Europe including in Munich, Germany, as both a stage set / display builder at the world's largest trade shows, shipwright on both the MV Narlin (yacht of the abdicated King Edward and Mrs. Simpson) and the Orca in Hamburg, England working on an historical 16th century restoration. He finished as foreman on a new development and worked in Sweden and Italy as a carpenter. The earthquakes brought Steve back home to Christchurch where he immediately became involved in the repair of homes and commercial buildings as well as new commercial build projects. Steve is a business member of New Zealand Certified Builders, a Licensed Building Practitioner and holds a Site 2 class license.
